These questions are hopefully extensive enough to give a person the flavor of Dark Angel's Lair. They are meant as a guide, please feel free to e-mail the Host DA if you have any further questions - link is at the bottom of the page.

WHAT IS DAL ?
Dark Angel's Lair (DAL) is a PRIVATE Play Party. Created and Hosted by a member of the local BDSM Community known as Dark Angel.
Run for the pan-sexual pan-kink BDSM community, and located in London, Ontario, Canada, in a Private, Kink Friendly Venue.
No Laws are contravened at DAL, and we enforce the "DAL House Rules" - in order to protect ourselves, our members, and the DAL venue.
As this is a PRIVATE event, the Host Dark Angel reserves the legal right to deny anyone attendance.
DAL is NOT open to the public, is NOT open to anyone who has not paid in advance, but is a Private Pan-Sexual BDSM community event. DAL has had attendees from Quebec, Nova Scotia, New York, Alberta, British Columbia, California, Alabama, Michigan, - and OH YAH! - all over the great province of ONTARIO, CANADA.
To join our community, you must attend any Munch or other community event.
If you are a member of our community - and wish to bring a guest(s) you certainly can; BUT YOU must be willing to vouch for, and be responsible for them.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A "PUBLIC" AND "PRIVATE" PLAY EVENT ?
NOTE: this is based on an event IN LONDON ONTARIO CANADA (as some in the US have different laws)
DAL is one of 2 types of PLAY events in Ontario.
One is a "Public" FET NIGHT, the other (as DAL is) is a "Private" PLAY PARTY.
Neither allows sex to occur (although recently in Canada it was ruled sex CAN LEGALLY OCCUR IN A PRIVATE EVENT - we still do not allow it at DAL), but being open to the "Public" a Fet Night additionally cannot allow anything that "might" offend someone attending - like genital (or FULL) nudity.
For our American friends; breast nudity is 100% LEGAL in Canada (Damn I am glad I am a Canadian !)
Also for our American friends (as some US states outlaw this); consensual "assault" is LEGAL in Canada (although you can not consent to "assault causing bodily harm").
As a "Private" event ~ a Play Party (like DAL DOES) legally has conditions needed for the event to be considered private.
The conditions DAL adheres to, to be considdered PRIVATE are;
1/ A private pre-established guest list - from members of a recognizable community or group (and their guests).
- this is why I must regretfully decline virgin newbies from attending DAL on their own (they MAY attend as the guest of an existing Community member) - they must attend AT LEAST ONE other event like a Munch. Newbies MAY only attend DAL if they are the GUEST of someone who is already an active member of the Community (i.e. they have attended other Community events)
- IMO, a Play Party isn't a good 1st event for ANYONE.
2/ A signed waiver listing pre-knowledge of the House Rules (which lists full nudity) as a condition of membership in that DAL event.
- such condition of membership eliminates a person having ANY possibility of claiming they were "surprised and offended".
3/ Not a requirement of being considered PRIVATE in Ontario, but VERY important to us all AS DAL IS A PRIVATE EVENT; is that one of the main reasons for the WAIVER, is to codify and set as conditions of attendance - the person signing - agreeing to keep all people, conversations, and events witnessed in CONFIDENCE. Should you later decide to write an article (I don't care if you get paid or not), if you list ANY specifics, expect to receive a permanent lifetime BANN from DAL. Feel free to say, you didn't have a good time, or you thought the equipment was awesome, or there was some great outfits, or you thought the Host has a big nose. Opinion is ok, details, names, or quotes are not.

HOW OLD DO I HAVE TO BE TO ATTEND DAL ?
The DAL venue is made up of 2 floors. On the first floor the Venue has a liquor license - which stipulates all those in attendance are 18 years of age or older. Only those 19 may purchase or consume the alcoholic beverages.
The second floor has a hotel license so age is not an issue, BUT, since you have to be 18 to enter DAL on the 1st floor - the minimum age to attend DAL is 18.

HOW MANY PEOPLE ATTEND DAL ?
150 ! MAX
We have room for about 250 or so people (on 2 floors), but Dark Angel caps attendance at 170 people. WHY? because we want room for play, room for fun, and room to wander about and meet new people.
Remember; DAL is focused on Play and Socializing, not dancing, not huge packed crowds, nor or making money.

HOW MUCH DOES DAL COST TO ATTEND ?
DAL Reservations are pre-paid $20.00 per person, are non transferable, and non refundable.
Just $20 per person? WOW! that is a VERY good price for an event that has so much for an attendee.
So what do I get for my $20? Answer, that is answered later on,, LOL, read the rest of this FAQ to find out.
NO CREDIT - don't ask me to "HOLD" you 2 reservations - they are first come/pay, first serve only. DAL has sold out (140 people) every time (except four) in the past 4 years.
NO door sales accepted what so ever.

DAL WAS $15 PER PERSON FOR 5 YEARS, WHY IS IT $20 NOW ?
DAL Reservations had been $15 per person for it's first 5 years (2000 ~ 2005). During those first 5 years prices of about everything continued to climb, without DAL's low $15 price changing. This financial burden has finally gotten to the point that potentially the quality of the event might have begun to suffer (cheaper food, less free water, canceling Workshops etc). I put my foot down on even considering bringing the community an event below standard. Reluctantly in January of 2006 I raised DAL to $20 per person (from late 2005 till present) - but kept the volunteers price at the same low low (since day 1 of DAL) $10 per person.
DAL has to always at least break even, and the adjustment was necessary to continue bringing the community a well run event. Don't forget - that $20 also includes a FREE buffet that is the best buffets amongst the large Community events, as well as free water after play.

HOW LONG HAS DAL BEEN RUNNING ?
October 2010 is our 10th YEAR ANIVERSARY!!
DAMN the time has flown by.
With the strong support of some very good, dedicated, but perverted friends; Dark Angel Hosted the very First Dark Angel's Lair (DAL) over 9 years ago - on a cool Sunday night in October of 2000.
Thru 2000 and into 2001 DAL ran on the 2nd or 3rd Sunday (depending upon DA's and the venue's schedules) - in the months of October, January, April, July, and lastly in October of 2001.
In late December of 2001 the original DAL Venue pulled the plug on both our Private Play Party AND the London BDSM Munches (held monthly on the 2nd Monday). We didn't receive much of a reason - they just wanted to get rid of us.
After an EXHAUSTIVE search a NEW DAL venue was found!
The NEW DAL VENUE was AWESOME! The Venue had very many interesting things not found in any other BDSM Event, as well as making us feel so much at home. DAL Definitely had a new LONG TERM HOME.
Oh Yah, I forgot to mention; in late 2001 the new Venue gave us something else we never had before -
A SATURDAY NIGHT PARTY
DAL runs the 3rd SATURDAY (WHOOOOoooooHOOoOOO) approximately 5 to 6 times a year - the other months DA totes his equipment and slave to DAL's twisted sister events; KNaNO. Club 13, or the HUGE 5 day BDSM Camping Convention - TEASE (ya, he is a busy Boy).

WHAT TIMES ARE THE DOORS OPEN AT DAL ?
DAL runs from 8 PM till 2 AM (which means we push slow pokes out starting at 1:55 am)
We have a Monitored door 99% of the night (he might have to go to the bathroom occasionally) and everyone entering goes thru a small entryway before entering the main area - this provides more privacy for those in skimpy outfits.
The doors never "close", allowing you to slip out for fresh air (proper attire please) or a smoke.

IS THERE A LOCAL HOTEL (with a discount) ?
Yes.
If you wish accommodations for DAL; I heartily make the following
recommendation (especially since it is within a few minutes WALKING distance
from DAL).
Econo Lodge
636 York St. London Ontario (519) 433-8161. Completing a $500,000.00
renovation at the end of 2005, the Econo Lodge has a new face and upgraded
facilities.
A special DAL GROUP RATE has been negotiated (limited numbers of these
rooms) for an awesome price of $65 + tax (aprox $72 in total - prices subject to increases). This includes
double occupancy in a double room as well as free continental breakfast.
Just tell them you are a part of the "DAL GROUP" discount code "L-DAL"
DAL is not responsible for reserving your room, or what happens at the
hotel.

WHY IS DAL NON-SMOKING ?
DAL used to provide a separate Smoking area; BUT in late JUNE of 2003 the City of London enacted a 100% NO-SMOKING Bylaw.
Smoking is allowed outside the doors to DAL, please wear appropriate clothing for the weather as well as being within view of a public street.

WHO MAKES MONEY FROM DAL ?
No one!
DAL is run "as" a not-for-profit event. To be honest not many events in my knowledge turn a profit. If they should - more power to them IMO. The ones that do try to make a profit tend to be much larger than DAL and/or offer allot less for your money.
I am not in this to make money - and as such, I try to structure the finances in a way that DAL breaks even. With any extras ~ DAL does what it can to support the wider community.
The only rule is that Dark Angel ALONE decides where the money goes - cause Dark Angel has always paid the bill when DAL doesn't break even (like DAL's entire first year in existence - OUCH!)
DAL directly supports the DAL/BDSM London Series of SM Educational Workshops - giving something back to the BDSM community.
DAL often donates FREE reservations to other affiliated events in SW Ontario - to be drawn as their Door Prizes.
DAL provides some of it's own FREE Door Prizes (such as free tickets to the next DAL)
DAL provides free attendance to DAL Staff
DAL provides a discount to volunteers (DM's and set-up / teardown) who help to make a safe event occur (DM's).
DAL supports these DAL WebPages - to communicate, educate, and promote - DAL.
DAL provides one FREE bottled water to each player after play for cool down.
DAL provides FREE food to ALL attendees each and every DAL Play Party (approximately 11 pm).
DAL supports and continues to provide the majority of DAL's own - safe and well built equipment. We retire old (but still safe and solid) equipment; for example - The First DAL St Andrew's cross was sold to a friend Toronto Fet Night (Scarlet Woman) and the resulting cash was donated to Snow-Bound 2003. For the September 2003 DAL, I presented a NEW Gorean Post; built by Kilted One, paid for by DAL. Also in 2003 we added a delicious antique DAL "student wooden school desk". In 2004 DA built the 2 floor to ceiling chain play stations (DAL's "Great Chain Ride", and the "DAL Chains of Pain"). In 2005 DAL equipment was added to again, with the addition of the gorgeous wooden DAL Bondage Table, the antique DAL Medical Gurney, a second antique wooden student desk, and a second kneeling DAL Spanking Bench. In 2008 DA and some friends built 9 more pieces of equipment (3 Bondage Tables, 3 Gorean Posts, and 3 Bondage Ladders), in 2009 DA purchased 3 more bondage ladders, as well as bartering for an extra large specialty Spanking Bench, and in 2010 DA bartered for 4 new pieces of equipment. Putting together and maintaining such a large and varied collection of Dungeon Pieces takes money.
DAL also occasionally gives free admission to other affiliated event Hosts - to give them a fun free night of fun - without all the work - I think they deserve it.
Dark Angel also occasionally (if there is anything left) tips the DAL Bartender, and DAL Doorperson - equally. I feel they do us a great service and want to reward them. Attendees; please tip these hard working people - they are great assets to DAL and the DAL Venue.
AFTER all of THAT, if there is anything left over (very DAMN rarely ! ), Dark Angel enjoys a free $9 breakfast the next morning.

HOW TO I GET DAL RESERVATIONS ?
1./ Cash;
At a Munch or other community event. Reservations may be obtained through local ticket sellers, found at our local community munches and events. Within 3 days of paying cash; Each person must e-mail their details to DA at dark@darkangellair.com which provides a working e-mail address as well as FULL real name and nickname for EACH ticket requested. If you do not so this, there is no address to send your confirmation, as well as you will not appear on the guest-list at the door.
Reservation sellers, are Kilted One, Bernie Roehl of EHBC, Peter The Wolfe and erin of the DSSG, and I - DAL's Host - Dark Angel.
2./ Bank Deposit;
For those who have previously attended a Munch (therefore a member of our community), but have trouble attending a Munch just to pay for your reservations, I have set up a TEASE/DAL business bank account at the ROYAL BANK OF CANADA (only open Monday to Friday). You may email to request data for the direct bank deposit reservation purchase method dark_angel@xplornet.ca - please put in a subject and don't make me guess what event you are asking about - remember - I do sell for many different events.
3./ E-Transfer / E-Chequing;
For those who have previously attended a Munch (therefore a recognized ACTIVE member of our community), but have trouble attending a Munch just to pay for your reservations - AND are signed up for ONLINE BANKING at one of SEVERAL major Canadian Banks. You may sign onto your On-line Banking, and send an e-transfer/e-chequing reservation of $20 per person to register@get-teased.ca - please put in a subject and don't make me guess what event you are asking about - remember - I do sell for many different events.
VERY IMPORTANT !!! When setting up an e-transfer you MUST set the answer to the security question to "RSVP4DAL" (all capitals, all one word). I don't care what the question is, but if that isn't the answer - your transfer will not be accessible, therefore you will not be attending DAL.
For CASH OR Bank Deposit OR E-Transfer / E-Chequing - Methods, I must know who you are, or who to ask who you are . You must also give me each FULL real name and nickname for EACH ticket requested (“hi my name is Billy Bob, I want 3 tickets”, will waste your time and mine). Nicknames ONLY will appear on the guest list, and all data is destroyed following the event - for full confidentiality.
Anyone who does not e-mail full name and nick for EACH reservation MIGHT receive a reply letter (if I have time and DAL doesn't sell-out), asking for this mandatory information. Such e-mails do not hold a high priority in the work load.
NOT ALLOWED FOR METHOD #2 & #3
3rd Party Internet Bank transfers will be ignored. I will not "sign-up" for their service, nor will I wait the standard 4 to 6 weeks to receive the money.

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER I REGISTER ?
After I receive cash, confirm Bank deposit, or receive the instantaneous E-Transfer / E-Cheque notification;
I add the registered attendee's FULL REAL NAME, NICKNAME, and e-mail to a spreadsheet. From this the DAL Door Guest List (which only contains nicknames) is generated for our doorperson to allow entrance.
Approximately ONE WEEK prior to the event - I send each registered attendee a "DAL Confirmation" e-mail. This e-mail contains A./ Confirmation, B./ Directions to DAL. C./ a link to the DAL House Rules,
Please note; if you use one of the free web based e-mail programs (hotmail, yahoo, etc.) - DAL takes NO responsibility if you do not receive confirmation or directions (if you let your inbox fill up - it is your fault, not ours).

WHAT WILL I FIND AT DAL ?
Many people ask about what happens at DAL.
The answer is SAFE, WILD, and FUN!
You will see lots of PLAY, lots of friendly socializing, lots of interesting outfits, many many varied kinks, and many many varied types of relationships.

CAN I COME TO JUST WATCH ?
DEFINITELY !
Some people have a kinks that include watching (or being by watched) others. You will find both are welcome at DAL.
So are the people who want to, but aren't ready to get up and play in front of others yet.
So are people who are watching to pick up new techniques or looking at a style that differs from their own. DAL cautions all to make sure they don't run off ant try things they see or hear about - you are expected to independently study (preferably from someone privately) and safely attempt anything yourself. If you see a Workshop on Fireplay and run home to accidentally light yourself on fire - don't blame us.
Remember that any interaction HAS to be 100% CONSENSUAL. If you don't meet anyone you are interested in playing with, enjoy watching others play. It is expected, just don't interrupt play, and don't bother those who have JUST played (they need wind down time).
Also, don't come to DAL expecting ANYONE has to play with you just because you ask nicely (or not).

WHAT IS THE DRESS CODE FOR DAL ?
DAL has an interesting dress code in effect - Any damn thing you want - right down to absolutely nothing. OK, no live animals please (hell, no dead ones either!).
Options; wear your street clothes, wear fet ware, wear tuxedo or cocktail dress, wear a diaper (keep it clean), wear a garbage bag, wear leathers, wear feathers, wear jeans, wear chain mail, wear a costume, wear a t-shirt, wear dress clothes, wear a sheet, cross-dress, wear a parka, wear nothing at all, wear whatever you like!
Mandatory; wear a smile.

WHY CAN DAL ALLOW FULL NUDITY ?
That is correct - full nudity is allowed at DAL.

Non-Consensual touching is NOT allowed; so just cause it looks nice - DON'T TOUCH IT.

DAL is legally considered a PRIVATE event, as no-one from the street may wander in, and all attending are aware (reading the House Rules is a condition of attendance) of potential nudity ~ therefore no-one is "reasonable expected" to be offended. Thus being nude at DAL is fully legal - unlike a public event (such as a bar, club, or Fet Night) - where you should never witness full nudity.
The 2 other parts of keeping our nudity from being illegal - is that no one who might be nude is making ANY money for their nudity - and we STRICTLY enforce "NO UN-CONSENSUAL TOUCHING"
Touching without consent is illegal and it is a good way to get ejected and banned for life.

HOW BIG IS DAL ?
Our “huge two floor” venue promises to be FAR more exciting than you are normally used to. DAL limits attendance to 170 people (DAL staff and DM's inclusive).
Bold and wild! AND ON A SATURDAY NIGHT TOO !!!!
On the 1st Floor
Is the Play Area.
ROPED OFF (for safety and interruption free scening) - where monitored BDSM Play will occur - several "roped off" Play Spaces, 2 bathrooms, and the licensed bar area (all are asked to remain responsible).
The Massive Kneeling Bench, DAL Bondage Ladder, St. Andrew's Cross, Gorean Post, and DAL Bondage Table - all on the first floor, WELL spaced apart for a great scene.
A free bottle of chilled water will be available to those who play, for cool down purposes. Bottled water is available for sale at the 1st floor bar if you are just thirsty.
No knife play is allowed on the 1st Floor - due to the liquor license (Ontario Bylaw).
No Smoking is allowed ANYWHERE at DAL.
On the 2nd Floor
No alcohol is allowed on the 2nd Floor (no liquor license)
Knife Play IS ALLOWED on the 2nd Floor.
On the 2nd Floor in a comfortable non-formal setting; is the 2 social areas, 2 more bathrooms, 7 play areas, and Staff PRIVATE Bed Rooms (separate from the DAL event - but still under rules).
Water Sports Area, DAL Chain Spiders Web, DAL HEAVY DUTY suspended Sling, Gorean Post, Cross Room, A second DAL Bondage Ladder, DAL Dog Cage, DAL Leather Bondage Bed Room (the entire room is a bed), DAL Bondage Table, DAL Spanking Bench, Vendor Room, DAL Medical Gurney Play Room, and LOTS OF PLAY.
A free bottle of chilled water will be available to those who play on either floor, for cool down purposes. Just look around for the cooler. Bottled water is available for sale at the 1st floor bar if you are just thirsty.
The 2nd floor single play areas are are EXCELLENT for people who don't want to scene for the first time with either a huge audience or a 4th Dan Flogging Master scening next to them.
No alcohol is allowed on the 2nd Floor
The upstairs will be available for a variety of interests - including the change room, the new 2nd Floor (3 station) Play Room, a single scene play room with a St Andrews Cross, and a single scene play room, 2 social areas, the quiet cool down room, and 2 showers.

DAL DOES EDUCATIONAL WORKSHOPS ?
In 2003 DA formed the DAL/BDSM London Series of SM Educational Workshops. Each time there is a DAL Play Party - but earlier in the day - DA Host an educational BDSM Workshop with an interesting topic, well known presenters, free coffee, snacks and handouts (if there are any).
This BDSM Educational Workshop Series is financially supported by DAL, and admission is a nominal $5 per person at the door to help cover costs. Occasionally when big name speakers or multiple Workshops are presented the fee goes up to $10 per person - still not too bad.
The DAL/BDSM London 2006 Workshop series will be including such topics as; High Protocol Service (a 2 day intensive workshop), DM (Dungeon Monitor) Training, European Style Protocol, and an as of yet undisclosed SPECIAL Workshop for our 6th Anniversary in November.

DAL HAS SPECIAL EVENTS ?
YUP!
A few times each year, we hold a Special Event, usually - either in place of the Workshop held prior to the DAL Play Party, or right at the beginning of the Play Party.
We hold the ANNUAL Dom/sub Charity Auction
- 50% of the proceeds goes back into DAL (equipment & upkeep, web page, printings, etc.)
- 50% goes directly to our adopted cause - the London's AIDS Committee, who support free AIDS testing, as well as MANY MANY worthy activities for London's Alternative Lifestyles.
We hold the ANNUAL London BDSM Fashion Show
- The venue for local Community Craftspeople to display their wares and let people know of their goods.
- This is a true fashion show, and NOT a craft fair.
- Volunteer models have fun and so does the audience - LOL.

DAL HAS BDSM BEDROOMS ?
Yes and No
Yes we do, No you cant rent one (sorry)
The DAL venue (on the 2nd floor) is a licensed HOTEL!
On the second floor, DAL has; along with the 2 social areas, 12 Play Stations in 7 play areas, and 2 bathrooms; 8 private Hotel Rooms. These Rooms are rented only to DAL STAFF (who pay to stay for the night of the party). The proceeds from these room rentals contributes to the free food we all enjoy at 11pm.
DAL Bedrooms are NOT available for the general public; that was why we aranged a special DAL Discount at an economical Hotel just 3 minutes walk from DAL's door.

The Private Bedrooms (8) upstairs go exclusively to the DAL Organization Staff - and are not available for rent to non-staff DAL attendees. The DAL Staff work long and hard to bring this event to the Community, so they get the perk of getting to sleep over - at cost (they are still paying to help DAL happen).
On occasion, one of these "other" 8 rooms becomes available. Dark Angel has full discretion to utilize them as he sees fit. occasionally he has provided them either - at cost, or even free - to organizers of OTHER Ontario events. Just one way DAL "gives back".

ARE THERE FREE EXTRAS AT DAL - AT NO ADDITIONAL COST ?
It is a funny thing you asked - LOL
Midway thru the night (Approximately 11pm) FREE light snack platters will be put on the bar and in the upstairs front social area. These will be light fair, cheese, crackers, veggies and fruit type platters. The exact snack will be decided a day or two before the event.
I suggest people eat supper BEFORE attending DAL, as we do not have full kitchen facilities available.

FREE PARKING - behind the venue in a large parking lot (security video monitored but not recorded) - be sure to lock your vehicle. DAL and the DAL Venue not responsible for any lost, damaged, or stolen items.

Also free to DAL attendees are some awesome Door Prizes! Ranging from FREE tickets to a future DAL (or affiliated event), to canes, crops, floggers, BDSM toys and key chains - the possibility is endless.
Door prizes are done with a silent draw - and distributed quietly (not to interrupt play) later during the night (approximately midnight) - you DO have to be present to win.
Those who choose to donate door prizes are very much appreciated. Those wishing to donate, please contact me as soon as possible.

WHAT ARE THE HOUSE RULES AT DAL ?
Most of the Private Play Parties have very similar House Rules. BUT, do not expect to be able to do exactly the same thing everywhere. Event Rules are based on a number of factors.
1./ Local Bylaws, Provincial and Federal Laws.
2./ What the Venue is comfortable allowing.
3./ What the Host and Chief DM's are comfortable allowing.

Do not expect to be able to EVERYTHING you can do in the privacy of your own home at DAL.
NO ILLEGAL ACTIVITIES ARE TOLERATED at DAL!

Floggers, canes, crops, singletails, fire, ice, ice pick, needles, hooks, knives, medical scalpels, gloves, paddles, rope, hand cuffs, thumb cuffs, leather bondage cuffs, taws, fingernails, vampire gloves, metal claws, chain mail gloves, belts, straps, violet wands, duct tape, electric tape, sand paper, ear plugs, chopsticks, rubber bands, wooden spoons, hair brushes, rulers, paint scrapers, shoes, fur, carpet beaters, ladles, magic markers, blindfolds, oils, sauces (Tabasco - but NOT on the equipment pls), skewers, leashes, clothes pins, fingernails, teeth, chain, rope, wood, bungee cords, hair clips, vice grips and other pliers, straight jackets, straight razors (but upstairs only), nipple clamps, CBT clamps, saran wrap, wartenburg wheel, electric fly swatter, TENS unit, flash cotton, nipple/CBT weights, branding irons, suction kit cups, snake bite kits, gags, hoods, - and once for a non-consensual (or so it seemed to the people watching - LOL) take down scene involving several Dom's; one feisty little submissive and a US Mail bag.

WILL SCENES BE TONED DOWN IF I AM A NEWBIE ?
NO, NO, NO, and NO!(do you get the hint yet? - LOL)
If a scene squicks you, turn away or go to another area of DAL (we do have 2 very large floors with MANY areas).
Be prepared to see play that is very much EDGE PLAY.
Do NOT INTERFERE, do not try to "rescue" a bottom, do not pester the DM's to "educate" you in what/why is happening. Do not run up to the people and play 20 questions as they come off the play floor - they need private time to allow their mental states to come back down to normal levels.
Newbies are expected to take an effort to educate themselves and be responsible as they are learning.

WILL I GET ARRESTED FOR ATTENDING DAL ?
ABSOLUTELY NOT !
We are very confident that DAL will never receive an unexpected visit from members of our local police department (well unless they are off duty and kinky like you or I - LOL).

Remember, as a private event (unlike Public events) Police cannot just wander in to DAL out of curiosity. In fact I will relate a true story - over 5 years ago (at the original DAL Venue), a London Police Officer asked if he could come to "check out DAL" - his request was declined by the DAL Venue Manager. The High ranking Police Officer (who was at the venue for a Police Meeting) accepted this.
8 years later - and the fine Officers of London seem still content that we are a group of responsible adult citizens, and their focus is needed elsewhere.

WHY are we confident? - Because nothing illegal is ALLOWED to occur at DAL.

DAL is well known (and has been for the full 8+ years of DAL's existence) to the London Police. They have seen our DAL House Rules (NEW DAL Venue Manager showed the DAL House Rules to the London Police - prior to accepting DAL many many years ago) and know our DM's are serious in their enforcement.
UPDATE to that story: in early 2005 I was contacted by the London Police that they had received a liquor violation complaint regarding DAL. I had a meeting with 2 Police officers and went over the House Rules and a walk thru the venue hours prior to DAL. Later that night - as was necessary to close the case, the same 2 officers arrived (wearing normal street clothes - definitely non-cop'ish) and discreetly waited for me to be summoned to the door.
While play was occurring, while nude people walked about, and with no recording devices (not even a pencil and paper), the 2 officers were escorted from one end of DAL to the other end of the 2nd floor and back to the front door.
Outside I had another long meeting with the 2 officers who apologized for having no choice but to visit, and complimented DAL staff on both our rules as well as the strict enforcement that they witnessed.
DAL was given a clean bill of health, told that the London Police knew all about us and were happy to let consenting adults continue to legally enjoy themselves. I was promised DAL would get no further visits for bogus liquor license violations - which is the only non-noise complaint the police can enter a private event for.
As a side; I was informed that the person who made the false complaint could be charged with "criminal nuisance" for tying up the Police with a false complaint (similar to pulling a fire alarm and tying up the Fire Dept).

DAL is one of 2 types of events in Ontario. One is a "Public" FET NIGHT, the other (as DAL is) is a "Private" PLAY PARTY. Neither allows sex to occur, but being open to the "Public" a Fet Night additionally cannot allow anything that "might" offend someone attending - like genital nudity.
As a "Private" event ~ a Play Party (like DAL DOES) usually has conditions to attend that are needed for the event to be considered private.
The conditions (which DAL adheres to) to be considered PRIVATE are;
1/ A private pre-established guest list - from members of a recognizable community or group (and their guests).
- this is why I must regretfully decline virgin newbies from attending DAL on their own (they MAY attend as a members guest) - they must attend AT LEAST ONE other event like a Munch.
- IMO, a Play Party isn't a good 1st event for ANYONE.
2/ A signed waiver listing pre-knowledge of the House Rules (which lists full nudity) as a condition of membership in that DAL event.
- such condition of membership eliminates a person having ANY possibility of claiming they were "surprised and offended".

HOW DO I MEET PEOPLE AT DAL ?
The best way is to get to know people either at local Munches, and/or from on the internet - then meet them at DAL. A good community calendar of events can be located at;
Check the time, date, and directions for a Munch nearest you.
The other way is to be friendly, talk to people at DAL and find someone who "clicks" with you. No different really that any other type of social event.
One caution is to not interrupt a scene in progress, as well don't run right up to players who have just finished to play "20 questions". Let them cool down and get their heads back on straight, There is plenty of time later in the night.
Please be aware - touching someone is against the DAL HOUSE RULES. Just because a lovely lady has exposed breasts; or a cute guy has a firm exposed butt; you have NO right OR implied invitation to grab, slap, or poke them.
To be blunt - such un-consensual touching is a violation of the DAL House Rules - and offenders will be evicted - and possibly banned from future DAL and DAL affiliated events.
NEW ... we have a small chalk board where you can list yourself if you are seeking a casual play partner. Add yourself to the board and give a reasonable description of yourself so someone can find you. If you are found - expect to negotiate a scene, but remember; if you don't click, NO ONE IS EXPECTED TO PLAY. That said, if you don't ask you will never get to play - LOL.

WHERE IS DAL HELD ?
London Ontario Canada; and that is all you will find out, unless you are a paid registered guest.
DAL takes the extra step in protecting attendees privacy - by - not publicly listing the Venue name, address, or directions. Those who are registered attendees receive a 3 part confirmation e-mail approximately one week prior to the event.
In this 3 part e-mail I send
A) confirmation,
B) a link to the current DAL House Rules (reading the House Rules is a Condition of Attendance) and lastly
C) full directions to DAL - with a map.
DAL attendees are ALSO asked not to reveal the DAL location.
This is an expected level of Privacy that makes DAL just "that much more" private and safe.
